Autumn Leaves is a 2014 short independent film by Glass Cheque productions.

Directed by James Buchanan, written by James Buchanan and George H Cummings and starring the late, much loved Scottish actor Sean Scanlon, it focusses on the hopes and fears of a typical Scottish family on the day of the 2014 Scottish Independence referendum.

The film was shot on location in Glasgow in June 2014 and premiered before an invited audience at the Glasgow Film Theatre on Sunday 14th September 2014, four days before the actual vote.

With a supporting cast of familiar Scottish talent (including actor/comedian Ruaraidh Murray and the inimitable Barbara Rafferty) the film was a labour of love for the makers - mostly self-funded and partially crowd-funded.

Five years on, and the safe, stable world promised by the Better Together campaign has been replaced by Trump, Brexit and Boris Johnson. Maybe it's time for a quick glance back before we start to look forward again..
